Why use Cloud Accounting?

At Long White Cloud Accounting we are firm believers that embracing technology is the way forward for your bookkeeping. Cloud accounting is the most advanced software for your bookkeeping which ensures we both get access to your numbers in real time. It promotes accuracy and efficiency of your bookkeeping, eliminating the need for storing lots of paperwork.

Bookkeeping has evolved over the years from physically writing down your transactions in a book, to entering your data on a spreadsheet to using cloud accounting. Who knows what your bookkeeping will look like in the next decade? But for now, we are enjoying the features of cloud accounting, Xero (to be specific) and promoting this heavily with our clients to the point that we will not take on new clients who still want to do everything manually. The manual process just isn’t accurate enough and is certainly not compliant with Making Tax Digital (MTD).

Long White Cloud Accounting has been prepared for MTD for quite some time now. This is because the majority of our clients are VAT registered, well established, Limited Companies, who must comply with MTD.

Data

As your financial transactions are stored in the cloud within Xero, it means that you can access your finances in real-time from wherever you have an internet connection. We love this as it means we can both access your account at the same time, see the same information and help you to make important business decisions, without having to wait until you’re back in the office.

Collaboration

Whether you choose to leave all of your bookkeeping to us, or if you do bits yourself, we can collaborate together. We can have different logins so you know who has been working in Xero and if you want to include other members of your team you can do so. You can even control what they can and can’t see or access.

Reports

When we’ve reconciled your accounts for the month, Xero has the capabilities of producing insightful reports. This information may not mean much to you, but it does to us. That’s why we like to have regular meetings with our clients to discuss these reports with you so that you understand what they mean and what direction your business is heading.

Unlike desktop accounting software, cloud software requires no downtime, for updates. This means access to your software is rarely interrupted. Xero are always looking at ways to improve their software and when they do introduce an update, it’s instant without having to refresh or update.
